Annie's house;
“Dad, this is unbelievable! You just got remarried barely two years since mum passed away, not just to a random lady but her younger sister, and you left me in the dark, I wasn't even aware.....” Annie paused to wipe her tears.
She fired at her dad again, not giving him a chance to speak up for himself.
"I hate you dad for this, I can't believe you broke me, you betrayed us, you broke the love you claimed you had for mum in the past, furthermore, you're not worthy to be called a father!” more tears ran down her cheeks.
“Annie, dear, I apologize for not letting you know about the marriage. I knew you weren't going to accept it, and you will do anything in your power to stop it. That's why I couldn't tell you. Please, forgive me dear.....” Mr. Johnson begged, almost in tears. He was unable to bear seeing her in that state.
“You promised mum that you'll always make me happy and feel loved, but all I feel is the same opposite. You lied to mum! You were unable to keep to your lame promise. I hope you are happy now dad because you got what you wanted.....”
she sniffed her tears.
She continued, “.....but I Annie Whitlock will never forgive you for betraying mum. Mum loved us dearly, she was everything to me. She doesn't deserve any bit of this. I won't and will never be a part of this dumb marriage”.
She has automatically changed her name to that of her mother's.
We will sort things out, Annie. Please forgive me and hear me out-”. Her dad cried out.
She cut in sharply,
“No, dad! I am done trusting you, If you can marry Aunt Maria and not tell me about it, I wonder what else you can do, Who knows if you both had plans on running away from me ?”
“No, my dear. We can't do a thing like that” Annie grabbed her mum's picture and stormed out of his room in tears.
“What kind of father was he?” she murmured under her breath as she ran to her room, feeling wrecked in her heart. Footsteps followed her behind.
“Leave me alone, dad”. She screamed.
“Forgive me, Annie. Please!!!” Annie's dad fell on his knees.
“Never!!!, now I want to be left alone
“, she flared up.
He did her the favor of giving her a lone time and made his way back inside. He couldn't save the situation.
Annie ran over to her window, holding out her mum's picture and admiring her beautiful dark brown eyes. “Just like my eyes, mum”, she smiled faintly while wiping her endless falling tears.
She lifted her gaze to the bright stars under the dark sky. “ I know you can hear me, mum. I..... I'm sorry I couldn't stop the wedding, it was all my fault. Not only that, but I promised to be a good daughter even after your death, but I was unable to keep to it”, a tear ran down her cheeks.
......” I can remember how you lost your life in that motor accident, mum, and your very last words. You said I shouldn't give up on myself, and you promised you were going to come back soon. Maybe, you lied, I don't know. Because it seems like ages now” her gaze fell to the ground.
“ I hate this city, mum. I hate Canada
because it reminds me of everything we had to go through. I miss you a lot”, she kissed the photograph and hugged it tightly.
“ Please come back. I will do anything to see. Aunt Maria really broke my heart by marrying dad, mum. I can't believe she could do this to us!!!”. She screamed, breaking the vase in her room.
It smashed into thousands of pieces.
Annie!! Annie!! What are you doing to yourself? Please, for your mum's sake, stop hurting yourself”, Maria pleaded, barging into Annie's room.
“Stop there! Do not dare come close to me. I hate everything about you!!!” Annie screamed.
I'm so sorry, Annie. I did this for you and only you. Please accept me into your life wholeheartedly. Don't do this to your dad and me. We love you and will always do”, Maria broke down in tears.
“Such impetus. Had you no shame, love, or respect for your sister when you thought about taking that drastic step? And without my notice?
I will never accept you as my new mum, get that into your fucking skull, aunt." Annie scream shook the entire house.
Annie was so depressed that she could do anything. She felt really betrayed, and emotionally drained. Suddenly, she began feeling really dizzy, and her head was spinning.
“Annie, what's happening to you”. Maria screamed as she attempts to keep her in a single position
She shuttered. “Even if I am dying, don't lay a finger on me”, she leaned on the wall for support. She could barely stand straight.
Her head kept spinning until she passed out.
