Johnsonkept thinking about what had transpired. He walked slowly to the ward where Annie was admitted, he looked at his daughter, who had already woken up.
Annie was lying upright, looking at the wall in anticipation.
“Annie” he called out, as he watched his daughter look away.
“ I know you are angry presently, but I promise everything will be fine after breaking this news to you….”.
He spilled out.
He walked towards her, he held her hand, and suddenly, she pulled back.
“Annie you will be leaving for Chicago today, here are your clothes, put it on, and we will leave for the airport….”.
He gushed out.
She turned and looked into his eyes, with shock, as tears gushed down her eyes.
“Are you sending me away, dad? Why? Because of her right, tell me??”
She questioned him even more.
“No Annie”. He said as he slowly pulled her close to his chest, hugging her.
“ I will never send you away my dear, but for your happiness and health, then you will have to leave for Chicago today.....”.
He pushed further as his tears betrayed him, pouring out.
“Please Dad, don't do this to me”, she said as she sobbed.
“Annie, please don't make this harder for me”. He said as he held her tightly.
She kept crying as he hugged her tightly.
Maria watched them from afar, as she sighted the father and daughter crying their eyes out.
She sobbed silently, wiped away her eyes and walked in silently.
“ Johnson, everything is ready, but you don't have to do this, please”. She tried persuading with tears in her eyes.
He looked at her and then at his crying daughter.
“This is the best decision for her.......”.
He proclaimed, he wasn't changing his mind.
Annie broke away from his hug, picked up her clothes, and left to change.
At the changing room, she sobbed, looking at herself in the mirror.
“I can do this mum, I can endure this, he hates me mum!!. Why does he?? I'm broken mum.......”.
She said to the locket containing her mum's picture, tears rolled down her eyes hitting the locket. Not knowing what she had done.
Annie quickly put on her clothes, as she slowly wiped her tears.
Annie walked out gently to the waiting room, where Maria and Johnson waited for her.
Johnson, seeing her in that state quickly ran to hold his daughter, he slowly walked his daughter to the car.
She sat at the backseat, looking out of the window, not speaking a word.
During the 30 minutes drive, no one spoke a word to the other. It happened so fast, Annie boarded the plane and was on her way to Chicago.
